The S65 V8 in the E9X M3 is one of BMW M's most iconic engines, but rod bearing wear is a well-known maintenance concern. Rod bearings protect the crankshaft and connecting rods by riding on a thin layer of oil, and when they wear down, the engine can develop knocking, low oil pressure, or catastrophic engine failure.
Our S65 rod bearing service includes replacing the factory rod bearings with upgraded bearings, installing new rod bolts, replacing necessary gaskets, and performing fresh oil service after installation. This is a crucial preventative maintenance service for E90, E92, and E93 M3 owners who want to keep their high-revving V8 healthy.
